The story of the Rockets begins in Paris (France), in 1972, when they were known as Crystal. In 1974, they changed their name to Rocket Men (or The Rocketters) as five bald extraterrestrials with gray eyes, silver skin, and wearing space suits, recording the single "Rocket Man" produced by Claude Lemoine, who would remain their producer until 1983. In 1975, they changed their name to Rockets and recorded the single "Future Woman". In 1976, their first LP, "Rockets", was released in France, and the band launched a series of phantasmagorical live shows which involved vocoder, lasers, colored lights, smoke and a 10-foot-long bazooka fighting flames. Their next LP "On the road again" (1978), was released in a large number of countries. The American release was made under the Tom N' Jerry Records label.
