Iron & Wine is the artist name of American singer songwriter and painter Sam Beam (born July 26, 1974 in Columbia, South Carolina, raised in Chapin, South Carolina). Before his first album he used to work as a professor of film and cinematography at the University of Miami and Miami International University of Art & Design. He had been writing songs for 7 years before recording his first demo. He currently lives in Durham, North Carolina, USA.
