Parallel version of The Quireboys, existing under the same name from March 2022 until later summer of 2024, but with different members than the other version. In March 2022, the The Quireboys announced their separation from singer a.k.a. . Guitarist took over Spike's part on the microphone for an upcoming tour. Spike in turn claimed the band name for himself and teamed up with Quireboys founding members Guy Bailey and Nigel Mogg as well as keyboardist Chris Johnstone and drummer Rudy Richman to record new Quireboys songs. The group around Griffin with guitarist Paul Guerin, keyboardist Keith Weir, bassist Nick Mailing and drummer Pip Mailing also continued their 20-year collaboration. This resulted in two formations, both using the name "The Quireboys". Guy Bailey died on 6 April 2023, but Spike Gray announced that a series of new songs he had written with Bailey in 2022 would be released under the name of the band "The Quireboys". There were verbal disputes between the two groups over the use of the band name. In autumn 2024, Griffin and his band then announced that they would change their name to Black Eyed Sons in order to concentrate on the music again.
