Dick Gaughan

Scottish folk musician, singer, songwriter, guitar player, and producer. Perhaps best known as a solo artist, he was also a member of Boys Of The Lough and Five Hand Reel, and founded the group Clan Alba. He was a founding member of the Scottish folk club Edinburgh Folk Centre (1960s), and a partner in Redesdale Studios (1986-1995). Born 17 May 1948, Glasgow, Gaughan went professional in 1970 and performed until September 2016 when his career was sidelined from the effects of a stroke.
