RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra

The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra (previously known as the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and the RTÉ Symphony Orchestra) is the concert music orchestra of Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ), a semi-state company and the national public service broadcaster of Ireland. The orchestra was founded in 1948 and has since been renamed several times: 1948-1961: Radio Éireann Symphony Orchestra (Irish: Ceolfhoireann Shiansach Radio Éireann) 1961-1989: RTÉ Symphony Orchestra (RTESO) 1989-2005: National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland 2005-present: RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra
