Mecano (2)

Dutch band formed in 1978 by Dirk Polak and Pieter Kooyman. Started out as a punk band but after they were joined by Tejo Bolten, Cor Bolten and Ton Lebbink around 1979 the style developed into new wave and art rock. This line-up was active until 1983. The current line-up consists of Dirk Polak and Mick Ness. The group has used different variations of their band name at different times, such as Mecano Ltd. (1978), Mecano (1979 to 1983, 2005 to 2007), Mecano Unlimited or Mecano Un-Ltd. (1997, 2014 until now).
