Compay Segundo Y Su Grupo

Compay Segundo's backing band. He first founded "Compay Segundo Y Sus Muchachos" in 1955. In 1992 they rename the band as "Compay Segundo y Su Grupo", with Compay (second vocals, 'armónico'); Benito Suárez (guitar, third vocals), Julio Fernández Colina ('voz prima': lead vocals, maracas), and Salvador Repilado (contrabass, backing vocals). In 1997 Hugo Garzón replaces Julio Fernández as lead singer, and in 1998 they included Rafael Fournier on bongos. After Compay Segundo's death in 2003, the musical direction has been taken by his son, Salvador Repilado.
